We focus all of our attention and energies into placing as many dogs in loving homes as possible, and educating the community about the greyhound as a pet. Our relationship with the racing kennels and the kennel masters is mutually beneficial; We work together to ensure that, when the racing days of their dogs are done, the dogs can transition into a happy, healthy retirement in the Cincinnati metro area.
QCG began in May, 2008 with 6 folks whose only common bond was a love of greyhounds; We were the southern subsidiary of North Coast Greyhound Connection at that time. We elected our first president and board members in November, 2008. In the spring of 2009 we decided to take the leap of faith and begin the process of becoming independent. In October of 2009 we received our 501(c)(3) status and the rest is history.
We were asked in May, shortly after deciding to go out on our own, to be a part of the Tales for the Pet Lover’s Heart special. This was an amazing opportunity to not only showcase our growing organization, but to shine the spotlight on the gorgeous greyhound breed.
The organization is made up entirely of volunteers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana who are passionate about ensuring each and every greyhound we place into a “forever home” is a good fit; both for the greyhound, and for the adopting family. We rely on donations from the community, both of time and of monetary resources, to continue our work.
